Advertise to the people who follow DJs

DJ INDEX ranks every working DJ by monthly Spotify listeners, rebuilt every Monday. The people reading it are looking up artists, comparing scenes and browsing country charts — an audience that arrived on purpose, not by accident.

Who you are reaching

Nobody lands on a DJ ranking by accident. The traffic here is people with a specific question — how big is this act, who is rising in this country, who is worth booking in house, mainstage, bass. That makes it a narrow audience rather than a large one, and it is worth being honest about which of those two you are buying.

It suits labels and artist managers, promoters and festivals selling tickets, booking agencies, and anyone selling to producers and DJs — plugins, controllers, sample packs, distribution, mastering, mixing services, music schools. It suits a consumer brand with no connection to music considerably less, and we would rather say so than take the money twice.

Where your banner appears

Two sizes, both IAB standards, rotating evenly between every advertiser booked on the same slot. No advertiser gets a permanent position and nobody is ever crowded out — the site carries at most one of each size per page.

Inside every artist page and on the home page, in the body of the page rather than above it. Renders at native size on every screen, phones included.

Near the top of every page that carries a ranking: the home page, the country, scene and movers overviews, every chart page, every country and scene page, every country-and-scene combination, and every artist page.

A worked example: €100 of credit buys about 25 rectangle impressions or 33 leaderboard impressions. Credit does not expire, so a small budget spread thin is a perfectly reasonable way to start.

How the billing works

  • You are charged per impression, at the rate above divided by a thousand. Nothing is charged for a click.
  • Unused credit comes back whenever you ask, to the card you paid with, no reason needed.
  • An impression counts only once the banner has been on screen. A slot below the fold on a page nobody scrolled costs you nothing, the same reader is not counted twice within thirty seconds, and crawlers are never counted.
  • Credit is prepaid, from €25, and does not expire. When it runs out your banner stops showing and starts again the moment you top up — nothing is cancelled, and we email you before it happens.
  • Impressions and clicks are visible live in your dashboard, per banner and per day.
  • Every top-up is invoiced automatically, with 19% VAT shown separately.

Questions

Who reads DJ INDEX?

People researching artists: promoters and bookers checking how big an act has become, labels and managers watching their roster, producers comparing themselves to the field, and fans following a scene. They arrive on purpose — through a search for a DJ, a chart or a country — rather than through a feed.

What does a banner cost?

The leaderboard is €3.00 per thousand impressions and the rectangle €4.00. There is no minimum spend beyond the €25 smallest top-up, no monthly fee and no contract. Prices include 19% German VAT.

Which banner sizes do you accept?

300×250 and 728×90 pixels — the medium rectangle and the leaderboard, both IAB standards. Between them and three other sizes they carry most of the display advertising bought anywhere, so if you have run a display campaign before, the artwork is already on your drive. PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP up to 400 KB.

How is an impression counted?

Only when the banner has actually been on screen. A slot below the fold on a page nobody scrolled costs nothing, the same reader is not counted twice within thirty seconds, and crawlers are never counted at all.

Do I pay for clicks?

No. Clicks are free and reported separately, so the click rate you see is the honest one — you are only ever charged for the impression that produced them.

Can I buy a higher position in the ranking?

No. The chart is calculated from monthly Spotify listeners and nothing else. Advertising buys a banner slot beside it, never a place in it, and every paid placement is labelled.

How quickly does a banner go live?

Immediately after upload, as soon as the account has credit. Banners are reviewed afterwards rather than before; anything breaking the rules below is stopped and the unused credit refunded in full.

What happens when my credit runs out?

The banner simply stops being shown. Nothing is cancelled and nothing is deleted — it starts again the moment you top up, and you get an email before it happens.

Can I get my money back?

Any credit you have not spent, at any time, for any reason — one button in the dashboard, paid back to the card you topped up with, usually within a few working days. Impressions already delivered are advertising you received and are not refundable. Consumers also have the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal on top of that.

Do I get an invoice?

Yes, automatically, with VAT shown separately and the operator's tax number on it. Up to €250 the invoice needs no address; above that German law requires one and the dashboard asks for it first.

We do not accept banners for anything we would not want next to an artist's name: no adult content, no gambling, no crypto offers, no malware, no impersonation of an artist or label. Banners go live immediately and are checked afterwards; anything on that list is stopped and the unused credit refunded in full — as is any unused credit you ask for back, at any time, for any reason. The full advertising terms say it precisely. Questions about a campaign, or a budget bigger than this page is built for: hello@dj-index.com.
